CHC Newsletter Q1 2025

God is graciously and continually at work in Christ’s Heritage Church, beginning the new year’s first quarter already with many reasons to praise Him. May God be glorified in this!

Ministry Updates

5th-Year Church Anniversary

CHC celebrated its fifth-year anniversary last January 11, 2025. From the collective struggles such as the period of the COVID-19 pandemic to the different individual trials providentially decreed by God, the past five years have been a clear demonstration of the Lord’s steadfast love for His Church. The anniversary event’s theme was “A Missional Church” with preaching shared by Pastor Reuben Saywell from Grace Church Santa Maria in Bulacan. The event was an opportunity to literally count our blessings in the past year as a local church, be encouraged and challenged by the Word through God’s call to a Gospel-lived and Gospel-preached life inside and outside the local church, and have edifying and joyful fellowship with the brethren and guests. Lord-willing, CHC will be sustained for another five years and more for His glory!

Matthew Series Completion

After more than two years starting in December 2022, the Lord has allowed the sermon series on the book of Matthew to be completed last February 23, 2025. We thank the Lord for sustaining CHC and the sermon series’ different preachers to finish the Gospel account according to Matthew. From this, the church has begun a new sermon series on the book of 1 John. May the preachings from God’s Word continue to edify the church!

New Covenanted Members

It is also a joy for CHC to welcome three new members this past quarter last January 12 and March 9, 2025, which even includes being able to witness the sacrament of baptism for one of our new members!

Batch #9 Applicants for Membership

By God’s grace, the ninth batch of applicants for membership have started their membership classes last February 16, 2025 and are expected to go through a total of 10 classes to know more about the theological doctrines and stances of CHC as a reformed baptist local church. Lord-willing, the applicants will come to a clearer understanding of the Word and its call for God’s children to be committed to a local church.

Adult Sabbath School on Reforming Worship

As CHC continues in its Adult Sabbath School series on Reforming Worship which started last September 2024, the church is currently blessed to look deeper into Who and What the object of our worship is. This includes being able to study the absolute and relational attributes of God, the Triunity of God, the eternal distinctions of the Three Persons, and most recently starting to look into the characteristics of God’s eternal acts. We look forward to how this will continue to reform and strengthen the church’s perspective when understanding and approaching our holy God in worship.

Weekend Ministries — Tabletalk on Book of Revelation, Saved Media Podcast, Women’s Book Study

Opportunities for learning more about God’s Word have been graciously provided by God through different ministries on Fridays and Saturdays. Tabletalk sessions on the book of Revelation and live podcast episodes ℅ CHC’s Saved Media ministry take place on Fridays, while a women’s book study on Samuel Renihan’s “Order and Honor in the Household” takes place almost every other Saturday.

Starting this year, together with CHC’s members and guests from other local churches, Saved Media has already been able to go through different Christian topics for their podcast episodes such as:

  • Considering Christian Contentment (with Pastor John Lao)
  • The Dorean Principle (with Deacon John Madrid of Reformed Life Community Church)
  • The Importance of Church Membership (with Bro. Glen Guevara)
  • The Beatific Vision (with Bro. Jezreel Madsa)
  • Eternal Relations in the Trinity (with Pastor Xley Miguel)

Prayer Requests

Christ’s Heritage Church would highly appreciate your prayers for the following as the church and its members continues to trust and depend on in its Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ:

  • Pray for the continuous sanctification of our members and their unity in the name of Christ.
  • Pray that the Lord would sustain the ministry of our pastors, Pastor Xley Miguel and Pastor John Lao, when it comes to shepherding and in the preaching of the Word (2 Tim 4:2)
  • Pray that the Lord would enable our deacons to ‘gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.’ (1 Tim 3:13).
  • Pray for the current applicants (9th batch) for membership, that they would persevere and grow in knowledge and grace in Christ
  • Pray for our current weekend ministries, particularly our Tabletalk sessions on the Book of Revelation, Saved Media Podcast, and Women’s Book Study, that it may continue to bless the church’s members and guests
  • Pray for the edification of the members and guests every Lord’s Day as we continue in our sermon series in 1 John and Ecclesiastes, as well as growth in the knowledge of God from the Adult Sabbath School series on Reforming Worship

Matthew 28:19-20 ESV Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
